Not surprising. Conservatives (including conservative Democrats) have always cared more about embryos and zygotes than they do about actual, living people.

“Last time I played slots, I was on a $1 machine with no progressive pot. The top payout was 15000. So unless there was a progressive pot that hadn't been hit in years, there's no way the jackpot was $166m.

Sorry but the majority of people I've seen that shop at Walmart have certain matching qualities..
When I had first heard of this game, I dismissed it as stupid. Seriously, a train? Now though, it seems pretty good and I think I'll get it. Still irked by the train though :l!

FTA: "But safe ground is up to 2 metres away, and the rover will be going slowly — maybe only 1–2 centimetres a day. "Wow... Makes you wish you could just go there and pick it up like one of your old RC cars.I think these maps tries to help to explain what's going on:http://marsrover.nasa.gov/mission/tm-spirit/images ...http://marsrover.nasa.gov/mission/tm-spirit/images ...

Anyone that didn't think in the back of their mind "I bet it was a Muslim" is lying or lacking in imagination. While some might want to spin that as a sign of pervasive racism/xenophobia... it's actually just a healthy dose of common sense. It's not politically correct... it's just reality. To balance the point, I generally assume all serial killers are white guys... because most of them are white guys. I assume most rapists are men... and I assume most school shootings are done by loser outcast kids...Are you afraid an old lady will mug you... or six twentysomething guys at 2 in the morning? The same part of the brain that answers that question makes the assumption above.Just an obvious point that increasingly needs to be made as people substitute political correctness for informed discretion. If you let PC think for you, you're not actually thinking... you're just running on doctrine like a 14th century Cardinal.

@PopcornDave"Hookers and tattoos" is the standard response. Jokes aside, it doesn't really matter where we spend the cash (as in greens), because they're not backed by much. The money that we have is a dead representation of a non-existent economic activity - non existing production, to be specific. There are more pictures to the manufacturing / distribution process. That's true. Still, there is no magic that will allow for continuous consumption in excess of production. The only way an economy such as ours can have the ratio is if there's either a pool of savings, or a growing debt. If I spend 70% of what I make, it means one of 2 things - either I made and put away enough in the past, or I'm to my neck in debt getting new credit cards to cover payments on the old, praying enough new offers arrive in the mail each time. I can pretend whatever I want regarding how I spend my money, but if the formula's out of whack, my days are numbered. The US economy is a phantom industrial machine that did have savings but ran out of them long ago. Now it's running off credit cards. It pretends that money is the same as capital, forgetting what it is supposed to be - an IOU for something valuable. Irredeemable IOU's are worthless. People are involved in circulating money and expanding credit while contributing nothing of value to the producer of their consumables eventually fall out of favor and are forced to either "get a real job" or perish. |
