Well, maybe we do need to destroy economic development. After all, economic development as it exists today, exists for the sole purpose of keeping cyclical consumption going, without regard to efficiency and renewability, and for creating false scarcity of resources for the sole purpose of corporate profit interests. So yea, the economy can pretty much go to hell. We already have the technology to create efficient and renewable abundance, without profit interest, so why not use it? And if it takes a government to see that happen, well, ***** it, our grandchildren will thank us (you're not naive enough to think that the free market will welcome all this abundance and efficiency, which are enemies of profit, are you?)
