No, the whole concept of Public Option is the fact that the government is providing insurance, instead of the health care industry. It is pretty much creating a non-profit company ran by the government that will offer insurance to the people, creating a huge pool of people so it can make it cheaper for people since instead of being in a higher risk pool that is limited to their state, like it is currently, they have a huge pool that spreads the risk more evenly, as well as the cost.?

I too was wondering just what significance state governors could possibly have on national politics unless the party also has that state's legislature under control & some unusual circumstances happen that give the governor control over the fate of congressmen at a national level.
